An eight-year-old boy who had recently joined the Chongde Juying Martial Arts Sports Club in Qingdao, Shandong, China, has allegedly been beaten to death by his martial arts instructor. The boy's parents had paid 7,680 yuan (around £837) for a year's worth of self-defence lessons, and on the second day of training, they received a video of their son looking unusually pale and covered in bruises, especially on his legs.

The boy was rushed to the Third People's Hospital in Chenyang, but he was declared dead on arrival. Medical records revealed that his heart had stopped beating 20 minutes before arriving at the hospital. Three people linked to the club, including the couple in charge and a coach, have been arrested, and investigations are ongoing. The club is currently not running.

The incident has shocked the local community, and many are calling for better regulations and safety measures in martial arts clubs. It is a tragic reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety of children in any activities they participate in.
